Avenue, which is within �lie Battle Green District.
The monu�nent sha11 be Lt. Barre granit�; th� granite shall have a smoath {not
palished) face with "Dedicated to those citiz�ns o� �e�cing�on �vha served tY�eir
country during World War II 1941-1945" engraved on it. The �ettering shall be
1 1/�" high and the numbers sha11 be 1" high. The back, sides and top of the
monument shail have a natural rocic faCe finish. The manurnent sha�l be
placed on a concrete foo�ng; min. 12" rhickness. The monument shall be
located approximately 30' froan the USS Lexington Memorial an.d approxirnately
G' Uack from the path. Landscaping around the monurnent shall be dane in tr�e
spri���.
E�cept as otherwise noted, wark shall be in accordance with the inforxnation
submitted on Septerr�ber G, 1995, and after installation, shall, in the judgmen�
af this Cot�unission, be maintained in gaod repair.
This Cer�ificate shall be void if not acted upon within one year from. the dat� of ;
rhe Certificate, ar if the work described is removed, abandaned, or replaced. ',

Notice is hereby given that at a hearing of' Che Historic Districts Commission
held on W�dnesday, September G, 1995, th� Co�ni��ission granted a Certificate of
Appropriate��ess to David Pollins with respect to the installatian of a World War'
II Monument at 1875 Massachusetts Av�n.ue, whieh is locat�d within tlle Battle
Green District.
Participating in the decision were Comm•issioners Stephen M. 1'aliti, Walter S.
Pierce, Clark Gz iffitil and Mark DiNapoli, and Assoeiate Commissioz�er Walter
