The last such formal examination was in 1934 when the Town Seal in use at that time was modified to replace the Minute Man in the center of the Seal with an image of the statue of Captain Parker. The outer ring of the Seal, the wording in that ring, and the various fonts used were retained and, in fact, a photographic reproduction of the original artwork for that outer ring was used for the outer ring of the new Seal. Unfortunately, the netiv Town Seal was not appropriate for all the printing techniques in use at that time so modifications began in the same year the Seal was approved. Printing and copying techniques continued to change so various alternative seals cropped up. At this point, some of those alternative seals have departed to a great degree from the original Seal.
