Description: Established in 1873,the income of the Jonas Gammel Legacy Trust is"to be expended by the board of
public welfare and by two ladies appointed annually for the purpose of purchasing such luxuries or delicacies for the
Town poor,wherever located,as are not usually furnished them,and shall tend to promote their health and comfort."
Criteria for Membership: The trust provides that trustees must be"Ladies of Lexington".
