Carol Kowalski notified members that Julie Mercier resigned from her planning director position as of 5/24/2019 2. Lexington Public Facilities --- Existing conditions (Mike Cronin, Facility Director). a. Building buildings only, not maintenance b. No more than 5 years c. School department land and town land are scheduled differently d. DPW is separate from DPF (Department of Public Facility), two sets of lawn mowers. What kind of guidelines can CPAC provide towards the public facility? - Example: Do we need a community center kitchen? - How does transportation affect the public facility? - What about new buildings. Some potential new facilities feedback from the community. - Covered pool - Crematory. Historical buildings: The Stone Building (former East Lexington Library), the 2nd floor has a deed restriction (for public speaking only) LHS science labs space are only 50% of the state requirements. Hasting cost$65M, with State provide $15M 1 How close is the school master plan being completed? Sometime in August. School enrollment is the key driving the master plan? Need to find 17 more rooms in school to accommodate the enrollment. Current DPF budget window (not annually, some projects are multi-year) is — $200M. In a Future of transportation workshop at MIT. (e.g. 1/3 of surfaces are dedicated to cars: parking and roads). Parking has big impact on buildings. Sometimes financing demands parking. Facility master plan was last updated on 2013: the recommendations all have been met. Question regarding facility: Is there any relationship between Hayden and the town? There is not(other than Hayden being located in Lexington) 3. Trend Report Summary: One of the points: > 60% of people are here after 2003 (the last time the plan was updated). Find out the most striking and interesting points in the reports. 4. Discovery Day Recap: Very well attended. A good mix of families and individuals. The area of interest dashboard is well populated with appropriate differentiations. Jeff will count the pins and sum up the sticky notes. 5. Meeting minutes from 5/15 were approved 6.
