that we David A Tuttle, & George Tuttle
of Lexington in the County of Middlesex and
State of Massachusetts, jointly and severally
are holden and stand firmly bound and
obligated unto the inhabitants of the
Town of Lexington in the county and
state aforesaid in the full and just sum
of nine hundred dollars to be paid unto
the said inhabitants or their successors,
to which payment well and truly to be
made, are jointly and severally bind our-
selves and heirs, executors and admin-
istrators firmly by these presents.
Witness our hand and seals this sixteenth
day of October in the year one thousand
eight hundred and fifty one.
The condition of this obligation
is such That whereas the said Tuttles
have agreed with the inhabitants of said
Lexington to erect and complete a school
House in the said town as seems[?] by a
contract dated June twenty first, A.D. 1851, and
the said Tuttles hence employed diverse
laborers to work in and upon said
School House; and whereas by a recent
law of the Commonwealth, each of the
said laborers has a lien upon the said
House, and the lot of land on which it
is situated, to the amont of his wages.
Now therefore if the said Tuttles shall
so pay or otherwise satisfy the said laborers for
the work by their performed, that
they or either of them shall not with sixty days from
the date hereof file his account
with the Register of Deeds for the
county of Middlesex, or within seventy
days commence a suit to enforce
such liens; or if the said Tuttles will
endemnify[?] and save harmless
the inhabitants of Lexington in
case any suit is commenced by said
laborers or either of them, to enforce
the said lien, this obligation shall
be void; otherwise to remain in
full force and effect.
