HomeMy WebLinkAbout2163 Warrant for Town Meeting to be held on November 14, 1842To Jonas M. Muzzey Constable of the town of Lexington
Greeting -- You are hereby required in the Name of
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to notify and warn
the Inhabitants of the town of Lexington who are qualified
by law to Vote for State Officers to assemble at the Old
Meeting house in said town on Monday the Fourteenth
day of November Next at half past twelve o clock P.M.
at which time the Poll will be opened for the following purposes viz. first to
determine whether the town will choose a Representative
to represent the Town in the next General Court to be holden
in the City of Boston on the first Wednesday of January Next
and if they should determine to choose a Representative
to bring in their votes for the same. Also to bring in their
votes for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Senators
of Said Commonwealth agreeably to the Constitution thereof
on one ballot. Also at the same time on a separate
ballot and to be deposited in a separate box their
votes for a Representative to Congress for District Nu-
mber four. And at two - o'clock P.M. on said day
and at said place to bring in their votes for a
Special County Commissioner for said County
and you are alike required to notify and warn
said inhabitants to meet at the same place
on said day at two o'clock P.M. to act on the
following Articles
Art. 1 To choose a Moderator
Art. 2 To see if the town will grant a sum of
money to defray the expense of fuel
for the four meeting houses in said town
and for the ringing the bells of the same.
Hereof fail not and make return of this
Warrant with your doing there on/or before the time prefixed.
