I Josiah Smith of Wayland in the county
of Middlesex. Yeoman , father of Ephraim
Smith lately deceased, do hereby authorise
my son Elbridge Smith now resident in
Lexington in said county, Schoolmaster, to
receive all sum & sums of money due
to said Ephraim Smith, and to adjust
& compound all claims and demands
due to said Ephraim Smith, and the receipt
of said Elbridge for any demand shall
be a full and complete discharge for
all claims due to said Ephraim, and further
authorise the said Elbridge to pay, out of
the money he may receive in the premises,
all claims and demands against the
said Ephraim.
In witness thereof I have hereto set my hand
& Seal this twenty seventh day of January
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred & thirty seven.
