HomeMy WebLinkAboutCary Lecture Committee - Charge 2006 CARY LECTURE COMMITTEE Members: 4(3 Full and 1 Associate) Appointed By: Town Moderator Length of Term: 1 year Appointments made: June 30 Meering Times: As needed Description: in 1911,two Lexington sisters, Suzanna Cary and Eliza Cary Farnham, left money to the Town to establish The Isaac Cary Educational Fund. The Funds two purposes were to 1)provide annual scholarships to Lexington's young people,and 2)to "provide lectures upon such educational and useful subjects as may promise beneiit to the community." The second purpose resulted in the Cary Lecture Series,offering free lectures/events to Lexington residents. Committee members determine which events will be offered each year then plans and i�nplements them. Criteria for Membership:None Ref.:Will of Suzanna Cary and Eliza Cary Farnham, 1911. Selectmen designated as Special Municipal Employees on April 24, 1963. Selectmen reaffirmed designa�tion as Special Municipal Employees on January 18,2006.
