Description:
In 1911, two Lexington sisters, Suzanna Cary and Eliza Cary Famham, left
money to the Town to establish The Isaac Cary Educational Fund. The Funds
two purposes were to 1) provide annual scholarships to Lexington's young
people, and 2) to "provide lectures upon such educational and useful subjects
as may promise benefit to the community. " The second purpose resulted in
the Cary Lecture Series, offering free lectures/events to Lexington residents.
Committee members determine which events will be offered each year and
assist in planning and implementation.
