LEXINGTON DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Minutes of Meeting of February 13, 2019
A meeting of the Design Advisory Committee (DAC) was held on February 13, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the
Ellen Stone Room located on the first floor of Cary Memorial Hall, Lexington, MA.
Members Present: Tim Lee, John Frey, Brigitte Steines, Caroline Fitzgerald, Bruce Creager, Bahig Kaldas
Members Absent: Richard Friedson, Steve Vincent, Alenka Slezak, Jill Hai, Bob Creech
Approvals: Previous meeting minutes reviewed and approved
The Committee meeting reviewed and acted on the following item(s):
1. Sign application for 39 Lowell Street
Committee reviewed the application and design of the new sign
Sign is shorter than existing sign
Posts were changed from PVC to painted aluminum
No illumination on sign
Sign is no closer to the road than the existing sign or no closer than ten feet whichever is
greater
After review and discussion of the application the Committee unanimously agreed to
recommend approval of the sign to the Zoning Board of Appeals.

1. Copy of design package – produced by FastSigns sheet 1 - sign elevation and photo simulations
showing location, sheet 2 - side elevation and photo example of similar sign across the street
2. Additional photo simulations showing the sign location and dimensions from the street edge,
similar sign opposite property, and photos of existing sign with dimensions
3. Site plan showing sign location
4. Zoning Board of Appeals application

No DAC input, too far along
What can we do to re-establish the DAC as part of the review process?
