LEXINGTON DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Minutes of Meeting of March 20, 2019
A meeting of the Design Advisory Committee (DAC) was held on March 20, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the Ellen
Stone Room located on the first floor of Cary Memorial Hall, Lexington, MA.
Members/Liaisons Present: Tim Lee, John Frey, Bruce Creager, Richard Friedson, Steve Vincent, Alenka
Slezak, Brigitte Steines, Caroline Fitzgerald
Members/Liaisons Absent: Jill Hai (SB liaison), Bob Creech (PB Liaison), Bahig Kaldas
Approvals: none
The Committee meeting reviewed and acted on the following item(s):
1. Sign application for 428 Marrett Road (second review)
The applicant explained that they had not found any record of the existing LeDerm sign
having been approved in in its current form. The applicant did bring a file copy of the
older Coldwell Banker Sign that is underneath the LeDerm sign but this was provided by
the property owner and was not found on record in Town files.
No record was presented that the external illumination currently on the LeDerm sign had
been approved. The Older Coldwell Banker sign drawing does not show any lighting.
Committee recommended denial of the larger street side sign
No illumination on either sign
Letter size on larger sign should not be any larger the letters on the adjacent existing sign

Dorchester, MA 02125 – Front Sign elevation drawing, before and after photo simulation of
front sign, Side Sign elevation drawing, before and after photo simulation of side sign, plot
plan – no changes from previous application
2. Copy of the Advanced Signing Inc. drawing of the Coldwell Banker sign – front and side
elevations dated 5/85
