LEXINGTON DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Minutes of Meeting of March 13, 2019
A meeting of the Design Advisory Committee (DAC) was held on March 13, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the Ellen
Stone Room located on the first floor of Cary Memorial Hall, Lexington, MA.
Members/Liaisons Present: Tim Lee, John Frey, Bruce Creager, Richard Friedson
Members/Liaisons Absent: Steve Vincent, Alenka Slezak, Jill Hai (SB liaison), Bob Creech (PB Liaison),
Brigitte Steines, Caroline Fitzgerald, Bahig Kaldas
Approvals: Previous meeting minutes reviewed and approved
The Committee meeting reviewed and acted on the following item(s):
1. Sign application for 428 Marrett Road
Committee reviewed the application and design of the two proposed signs
The smaller side sign generally approved
Larger street side sign was questioned, I relationship to the existing sign over the door –
was a special permit issued for this sign? Applicant did not have an answer but was
willing to find out and return for further review
No illumination on either sign
Letter size on larger sign should not be any larger the letters on the adjacent existing sign
Committee recommended approval of smaller sign and that applicant return for further
review of larger sign

1. Copy of design package developed by Art Studio Sign & Neon 963 Dorchester Ave.
Dorchester, MA 02125 – Front Sign elevation drawing, before and after photo simulation of
front sign, Side Sign elevation drawing, before and after photo simulation of side sign, plot
plan
Other Business:
1. Discussed establishing town wide design guidelines for all future development
Dick offered to provide examples from other towns
Meeting was adjourned
