FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD
June 18, 2013
4:30 p.m., Selectmen’s Office
Present: Norman Cohen, Father Colletti, Edmund Grant, Alan Wrigley; Emily Lavine, Assistant
Director of Family and Human Services, Human Services Department.
1. Money Available as of 5/31/13 Income $82,000
Principal $120,000
2. Human Services:
a. Human Services Report: April 10, 2013 to June 18, 2013.
Emily Lavine gave the Human Services report. The Human Services Emergency
Checking Account was used to pay an excise bill and to provide Market Basket food
cards.
b. Ratify Poll Vote - Human Services Request to pay $1,500 to help with child care –
ratified 4-0.
c. The Human Services Request to pay $1,800 for back rent was discussed and it was
decided that the applicant was worthy of more help. It was voted 4-0 to approve
$2,535 for this purpose.
3. Other Issues:
a. The request to pay $6,800 for the Center Flower Barrels was approved 4-0.
b. The Lincoln Park Subcommittee’s request for $10,000 for the bathrooms at
Lincoln Park was discussed. It was the consensus of the majority of the members
that this request did not meet the purposes of the Fund. A future request for funds
to beautify the area after the construction is completed could be considered at that
time.
4. Next Meeting
The next meeting will be on September 24, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.
