FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD
January 28, 2014
4:30 p.m., Selectmen’s Office
Present: Norman Cohen, Father Colletti, Edmund Grant, Alan Wrigley; Emily Lavine, Assistant
Director of Family and Human Services, Human Services Department.
1. Money Available as of 12/31/13 Income $50,703
Principal $124,750
2. Human Services:
a. Human Services Report: October 23, 2013 to January 28, 2014.
The strong need for assistance continued unabated during this period. $5,768 was
spent from the Emergency Fund. None of this expenditure involved homeless
families housed in the Quality Inn.
b. Ratify Poll Vote - Human Services Request for $3,000 for Human Services
Emergency Fund (11/12/13) – Ratified 4-0.
c. Ratify Poll Vote – Human Services Request for $1,824.50 for Holiday Gift Cards –
Ratified 4-0
d. The Human Services New Request for $2,500 for the Human Services Emergency
Fund was approved 4-0.
e. Letters of thanks for gift cards were noted.
3. Other Issues:
a. The East Lexington Community Association request for $1,860.00 for 2013
Flower Barrels was approved 4-0.
b. The Lions Club thank you letter regarding the Lincoln Field bathrooms was
noted.
c. Fund for Lexington solicitation costs were $1,676.87 for printing and $1,774.78
for postage. The response made the costs worthwhile.
d. Three hundred and four donations totaling $31,015 between 11/18/13 and 1/24/14
were noted.
4. Next Meeting
The next meeting will be on April 29, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.
