MINUTES
FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD
December 13, 2016
4:30 p.m., Selectmen’s Office
Present: Norman Cohen, Alan Fields, Ed Grant, Paul Shupe and Alan Wrigley; Kristie Demirev,
Assistant Director of Youth and Family Services.
1. Money Available as of 11/30/16: Income $ 32,713.21
Principal $ 267,366.21
2. Human Services:
a. Human Services Report: September 1, 2016 to November 30, 2016 -- Kristie Demirev
reviewed the activity for the period and stated that requests for financial aid continue
to be slow. There were request for help with rent payments and for fuel assistance. A
number of requests for winter coats were submitted as the holiday season approaches.
b. Ratified: Human Services Request -- $1,842 for Rent – Approved 6 – 0.
c. Ratified: Human Services Request -- $2,325 for Clothing Gift Cards for low-income
families – Approved 6 – 0.
3. Other Issues:
a. Kristie Demirev discussed the need for scholarship funds to aid low-income families
seeking to send children to summer camp programs sponsored by the Town. She will
come up with plans on how the Fund can assist with this need.
4. Next Meeting – March 7, 2017, 4:30 p.m.
