HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-05-22-TCC-min Town Celebrations Committee Minutes of Meeting May 22, 2019 Lexington Community Center Members Present Lorain Marquis, Chair; Glen Bassett, Suzanne Caton, Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Karen Gaughan, Gresh Lattimore, Sondra Lucente, Julie Miller, Bill Mix, Geetha Padaki, Sandy Podgorski, Sue Stering, Bob Tracey, Wayne Miller Members Not Present June Baer, Wei Ding, Mary Hutton, Cerise Jalelian, Paul Jenkins, Rita Pandey, Dave Taylor, Sam Zales Guest Gina Rada Business: • The chair reported that a quorum was present and the meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm. • Minutes from the meeting of May 15, 2019 were approved as corrected. • Lorain asked the committee to submit any expense bills for payment before the end of the fiscal year. She also asked for suggestions for equipment that the committee needs. One suggestion received was to purchase walky-talkies for the committee to use for managing future Patriots' Day parades. Glen Bassett and Suzanne Caton will research walky-talkies. Another suggestion was to purchase an LCD projector for use at the Veterans' Breakfast and TCC meetings. Linda Dixon will research projectors. • Future meeting will be: 6/5/19. This date is subject to change. Memorial Day, May 27: • Lorain announced that there will be a walk-through of the Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 25, when the committee members will check that all memorials for wreath laying are available.. • Linda Dixon reviewed the parade roster and sequence of events with the committee. It was determined that the parade will stop at the temporary Fire Department headquarters on Bedford St. • Linda will send the updated 2019 parade script to Kim Coburn and Bill Mix. • Sandy Podgorski will line up the Boy and Girl Scouts for wreath laying.
