Upcoming Events
Valentine's Day Cards
Brett explained that members would be making Valentine's Day cards at the end of
the meeting. These cards will be delivered to nursing homes and assisted living
facilities around Lexington. The cards are especially meaningful, as they may be the
only way some recipients celebrate Valentine's Day.
Lions Eye Glass Project I Saturday, March 7th, 2026 112:00 - 2:00 pm
Sarah shared details about the Lions Eye Glass Project run by the Lexington Lions
Club. Used eyeglasses can be dropped off at collection boxes throughout town,
including at the high school. Members will meet at C&W to clean, inspect, and sort
the glasses before they are sent to countries around the world to help people in
need.
Patriots Day Parade I Saturday, April 18th, 2026
Deb shared that there will be no half-day on the Friday before the parade. She
confirmed that marching ahead of the main parade was successful last year and that
LYC plans to continue this approach. Sarah noted that this also made it easier to
watch the parade afterward. A date and time to decorate the golf carts will be
determined. Members will hand out flags, as done in previous years.
Tom's Time
Tom shared several updates, including that Cafe Lexspresso is coming together and is
expected to open soon. He discussed the Sunflower Project, which supports voluntary
disclosure of hidden disabilities. Community members can fill out a form at the Community
Center to receive a lanyard and access additional resources.
Tom also noted that summer job opportunities will be posted shortly. Additionally, a
Community Egg Hunt for children ages 2-8 is scheduled for April 4th from 10:00 am -12:00
pm.

Closing Comments
Deb noted that 13 seniors will be graduating this year. Applications will be available at the
next meeting to share with family, friends, and others, with a focus on recruiting incoming
freshmen and sophomores.
It was also shared that the Spring Island Cleanup will likely involve digging up the island
due to construction related to the new school.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 12th, at 7:00 pm at the Lexington
Police Department Conference Room.
Respectfully Submitted,
Brett Robinson
