Minutes of HFAC Subcommittee
9/23/25 7 PM by zoom
The meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM by zoom. Present were: Chris Eliot, Barbara
Katzenberg, Terrence Parker, FAA Representative Renea Reddish, Amy McCoy, Carol
Haines, Nate Weinsaft, and Piper Pavelich.
Renea Reddish reported that the Community Engagement position at the FAA is vacant,
with no authority to hire at this time.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss and approve a Draft letter to ICE, regarding
detainee flights at Hanscom Field. The Draft letter will be reviewed at the next full HFAC
meeting in October. If approved by HFAC, the letter will be sent to ICE with copies to many
o?icials and community groups.
The Draft letter was reviewed and amended by the Subcommittee. Discussion focused on
the purpose(s) of the letter and the role of HFAC. HFAC reviews several categories of flights
(military, private jets, and training) at our monthly meetings. Detainee flights represent a
new category of flight that is not currently reviewed at our monthly meetings, but should be.
The Draft letter was amended and approved to be sent to the full HFAC at its next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM.
