Associate Commissioner Absent: Chair Lee Noel Chase called the September 4, 2025 Historic Districts Commission meeting to order at 6:02pm. Richard Neumeier acted as voting member for the absent commissioner Scott Cooper. CONTINUED HEARINGS Chair Lee Noel Chase opened the formal hearing for 9 Hancock Street (HDC-25-23), exterior alterations (Landscaping) in the Battle Green Historic District Documents HDC Cast Iron Boot Scraper – House of Antique Hardware: dated September 2, 2025 9 Hancock Street front door closeup: dated September 2, 2025 HDC project narrative revised 8.29.2025: dated September 2, 2025 HDC Project Materials list revised 8.29.2025: dated September 2, 2025 9 Hancock St Project Plan Sketch: dated September 4, 2025 HDC project photos: dated September 4, 2025 No public comments. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 9 Hancock Street. Motion carried. All in favor. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 1031 Massachusetts Avenue. Motion carried. All in favor. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 430 Massachusetts Avenue subject to Edward Adelman’s administrative review and approval on the specifications. DISCUSSION ITEMS Commissioner Updates & Liaison Reports – Redevelopment of 16 Clarke Street The Commission explained the HDC liaison process for development project at 16 Clarke St. ACTION ITEMS Consideration and vote on Meeting Minutes on August 7th, 2025 The Commission made a motion to approve the minutes of the meeting held on August 7th, 2025 as written. Motion carried. All in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 7:59pm. Motion carried. All in favor.
