John called hybrid meeting to order at 2:34 PM and took attendance

August Meeting Minutes approved
New Business
Boot camp 10/4 8 AM -11:30 at Batten Hall, a professional development
opportunity for residents interested in public service on town boards and
committees- Ellen will forward info to COA board
• Lion's Club and FCOA, along with 2 volunteers from COA, proposes
holding a senior ball/dance 10/26. Virtual meetings to plan, email Janet
Perry if interested

runs, at Community Center
o Vaccination clinic 10-1, walk-ins ok
• Harvest Fest 10/18 11-1 PM, preregistration

Age Friendly (AF) Update
Transportation
• No emergency transportation on weekends, so AF exploring
• Recruit more FISH volunteers
• Teach older people how to use Uber, Lyft, may enlist students
• RIDE available, must apply, can get up to 40 rides/monthly
• Ellen proposed transportation event
• Sudhir had meeting w/Susan Barrett, transportation manager

• Housing partnership- 2-3 in person mtgs/mo eves
• Lexington Center Comm ittee-mtgs Thursday in person 8:30-10AM
• Vision for Lexington -last Friday of month, 7:45 AM hybrid
• Age Friendly Committee -time tbd monthly

Lexington Housing Authority- Sue Rockwell
• Recruiting new office manager
• Mass budget included $100,000 for electric updating, Greeley Village on
hold
• 20% minority occupancy goal, we have 32 % minority occupancy
• Repositioning funding for capital improvements
Disability Commission (DC) -Janet Perry. Complaint from disabled
resident who felt discriminated against by a business, DC offer trainings
Housing Partnership (HP) — open
Discussion of intense demands of HP for time and POV. Sandra agreed to
try to attend meetings, ongoing discussion
Mental Health & Wellness Task Force — Ellen Cameron no update
Vision for Lexington Jyotsna Kakullavarapu-no updates
Lexington Center Committee -open
Strategic Equity Advisory Team (SEAT) - Ellen Cameron no update
The COA meeting was Adjourned at 4:03 PM.
