Attendance: John Zhao, Julie Shapiro, Michelle Kelleher, Dana Bickelman, Kelsey Rollins,
Sudhir Jain, Ellen Cameron
John, Michelle, Julie -Ann, and Ellen discussed Aging in Place resource fair. Julie -Ann and
Michelle suggest inviting representatives from Minuteman Senior Services to present
information on the SHINE program. They also consider including the RMV, Veterans Affairs,
and home grocery delivery services. Ellen raises the idea of having the Health Department
provide blood pressure readings.
Michelle secured 26 different vendors for the Aging in Place resource fair.
Next steps discussed:
Reach out to Gary from Lexington at Home to invite them to participate in the Age in Place
Resource Fair. Invite Karen Tyler from Veterans Affairs to participate in the fair. Contact
Michelle Alex from the RMV to invite them to participate and potentially discuss Real ID.
Add local physical therapists to the list of potential participants to discuss fall prevention.
Explore the possibility of having fitness instructors or health professionals provide
information on movement and stretches. Consider organizing a small health fair or clinic in
the basement during the resource fair. Look into having students give tours or manage the
Happy to Chat bench during the fair. Add mental health resources to the list of participants.
Create volunteer name tags for the organizers to wear during the fair.Ask the FCOA if they
will fund T-shirts for the organizers to wear at the fair.Create a handout with town resources
for attendees to take home. Contact Senior Supply in Woburn to inquire about their
participation in the resource fair. Start contacting and inviting organizations on the resource
fair list. Add discussing volunteer sign-ups and task assignments for the resource fair to the
next meeting agenda.
