Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission
(Lex250) convened in a hybrid meeting in the Parker Room at the Town Office Building
and via Zoom video conference on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 4:30 pm by Ms. Barry
as allowed by legislation (5.2475) extending the suspension of certain provisions of the
Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.

The meeting was called to order at 4:32 p.m. by Ms. Barry
• Approve minutes from 1/30/25 -Approved
Updates
• Publicity/Website Update-JGPR/Kristen Potter
o Website updates
■ Ms. Potter will send information on website traffic
o Media credentials -Concord has started
■ Online form to apply for media credentials
o Mr. Steve Connors asked that the events and images be updated on the
website
o Ms. Melanie Lin -Requested information from JGPR about social media for
volunteer recruitment
• Antony, France Updates: Ms. Jill Hai
0 30 total: 8 officials the rest of the people are unofficial
0 21 folks arriving on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Logan and Ms. Hai
requested transportation funding
o Hotel rooms at the Archer. The bill will be about $11,000
o Arranging a State House Tour
o Friday, April 18, 2025 Rededication of Antony Park
o Some non -official members of the group will be hosted by Lexington
community members
o They would like a tour of Harvard Yard
o Ms. Barry noted that the commission has allocated $20,000 for the visitors
• Thursday, April 17, 2025 -Ken Burns
o Lexington Event
■ Local and state officials, Ken Burns, Public Safety personal too
■ Press only meeting with Mr. Burns in the Estabrook Room
■ Noon -1:30
■ Ramille Romulus teacher from Clarke Middle School will moderate
the Lexington event
o CCHS evening event: 75 tickets per community, 25 for each community's
students
• Thursday, April 17, 2025 -Volunteer Recognition Event
o Mr. Lucente and Ms. Roy
o Working on an official name for the event
o Rachel Dratch will be the MC!
• Saturday, April 19, 2025
o Reviewed the events for this day- See Commission notes from 1/30/25
o New information: The West Point Band will be performing
■ March 12, 2025 they will be in Lexington for a walkthrough
■ Countdown Calendar -They would like to stage a April 19 photo on
March 12
■ Perhaps four or five buses
■ They are staying at Devens
■ Doing an Army weapons display
■ Major General Trevor Braidencamp will be in attendance
o Dignitary Luncheon
■ Awaiting VIP responses

■ Perhaps the library?
■ A potential sponsor has been identified for this event
o Parade -Ms. Cerise Jalelian and Ms. Barry
■ Lots of ongoing planning and logistics
• Ms. Roy -noted the importance of planning for those with
mobility issues
• Capt. Mazerall. and Ms. Jalelian also talked about locations
for handicapped parking
■ 135 groups
■ 4,000 people
■ Lexington Minute Men will be at the front of the parade as well as
toward the end
■ End of the parade -Ms. Barry
• Use the tent, which is being set up for Monday's picnic, as a
refreshment area post -parade
• Discussion around where to put the tent at Hastings Park to
facilitate movement of parade participants down Worthen
Road
• Monday, April 21, 2025 -Mr. Lucente
o Event opens at 11:30 with Rev Hall beer garden opening at noon
• 11:45-12:15 BSO- small group of brass and drums
• 12:30-2:3o The band Malin: Lead vocals by Lexingtontonian David Moore
o Minute Men and National Lancers will be in attendance
• Tuesday, April 22, 2025
o Naturalization Ceremony -Historical Society is coordinating
• Role of Commission Members on April 19, 2025?
o More on this coming as the date approaches
o This will also depend on each commission member's area of focus
• Mr. Lucente mentioned that it might be a good idea to have a volunteer appreciation
event after April 22, 2025
• Logistics
o Still waiting on the media partner
o FAQ is going live on March 1 from the four Battle Road Communities
• Monument -HDC voted it down
• 1 year moratorium on re -submitting
o This seems to be dead at this point
• Until Help Arrives Volunteer Training -Mr. Cleve Coats
o March 15, 2025 -Two Sessions
■ 9 -noon
■ 2pm-5pm
■ LPD training room
■ 50 people per session
■ Registration will be coming out by Feb. 14, 2025
• Stakeholder Meeting -Monday, March 3
• Four town meeting- Arlington will host and is looking for a location -perhaps on
March 6
• America250-Impressed with the Lex250 April 19 invite and many of these members
would like to attend Lex250

• Witness House Project Update- Ms. Bebe Fallick
o Ms. Rooney -Wrote an article
o March 12, 2025 7:30 Cary Hall Lobby: Distribution of the 25 banners
• Volunteer Update- Ms. Melanie Lin
0 97 so far
o Discussion around how to distribute the volunteers to the various events
based on need. Ms. Lin noted that it would helpful to know how many
volunteers will be needed for the events/locations
o Many potential volunteers would like to be at the Battle Green for the
Reenactment
o Ms. Jalelian and Ms. Lin will connect on volunteer duties and numbers
• Other Items
o Ms. Roy -Need to meet with the business communities about our needs and
the schedules- Ms. Barry noted that Ms.Sandhya Iyer from Economic
Development is communicating with the businesses
o Mr. Connors -Sound system question. Ms. Barry shared that she has talked to
David Pinsonneault at DPW
o Mr. Connors -Lexington, SC folks would like a meet and greet with the
Lexington town manager -will connect with the new TM?
o Ms.Fallick-Wondered aloud if the proposed elimination of the penny will
impact the Lex250 penny machine
A motion to adjourn was made and approved by a roll call vote at 6:00 p.m.
