Present: Members Nancy Sofen, Gerry Paul, Pat Moyer(co chair and minutes), Barbara Tarrh, Gavin grant, Rachel Summers; associate member Alicia Morris; Select Board representative Joe Pato; Charlie Wyman. Regrets, Mark Connor 3. Dave Pinsonneault sent regrets and answers to our queries. a. 21 Crescent still an open site b. mistaken plantings of Tilia have all been dug up and planted with correct species c. he wants to meet with Rachel before discussing the Miyawaki Forest idea with the rest of us. Offered week of 1/20 to RS who will f/u. d. Can meet week of 1/27 to discuss large shade tree list. Pat will communicate back several possible times: 1/27, 1/28, 1/31. Nancy to talk to Tim Lee about coming. Others would be Nancy, Rachel, Gavin. e. Spring planting. Forestry is ordering and specifying the trees.Willing to then meet with Barbara and Gavin.We're unclear on his suggestion to find sites at Hartwell businesses—thought it had been vetoed by the Hartwell Street Reconstruction 2030 group. We offer to continue to suggest other sites. Rachel suggested using Jotform. (v.i.) as a way to streamline communication with us and TW and keep a list of unplanted sites. Rachel will talk with Jonas Miller about Jonas and Dave getting together to discuss. 4. The 2501h subcommittee met 1/7 and reported to rest of the group. See the minutes of 1/7. They will meet again 1/21 with a goal of completing a plan for publicity, education, and distribution by 2/15. Jonas Millerjoined the group and was very interested in helping publicity, suggested a platform (Jotform) he has access to. The hired publicity firm, and Jonas, will both join our next meeting. 5. Rachel is brimming with ideas about planting pocket forest(s) and with information about their benefits to communities. She presented additions to her slide show, first viewed by us last month. She will be speaking with Maggie Peard (Sustainability) and Dave (DPW) about location(s). We talked about the advantages of having one in a fairly prominent, walkable location. 6. Barbara let us know that CLC is having an annual meeting featuring Charlie Wyman as speaker on Wednesday, 3/12, 6:30 pm, at the Community Center. His topic: the history of conservation (in this area???) 7. Wood St—no new information 8. Planning Board: Nancy continues to monitor developments on Militia Dr, Bedford St., and continues to have good information forwarded from Abby(last name?) 9. We adjourned at 8:50 AM. Next meeting will be on Zoom on Thursday 2/13. Side note, Barbara is out of town for the month, and I have to be on an 8 AM panel discussion at 8AM that day—so not at this meeting.
