a. 21 Crescent still an open site

c. he wants to meet with Rachel before discussing the Miyawaki Forest idea with the
rest of us. Offered week of 1/20 to RS who will f/u.
d. Can meet week of 1/27 to discuss large shade tree list. Pat will communicate
back several possible times: 1/27, 1/28, 1/31. Nancy to talk
to Tim Lee about coming. Others would be Nancy, Rachel, Gavin.
e. Spring planting. Forestry is ordering and specifying the trees.Willing to then meet
with Barbara and Gavin. We're unclear on his suggestion
to find sites at Hartwell businesses—thought it had been vetoed by the Hartwell
Street Reconstruction 2030 group. We offer to
continue to suggest other sites. Rachel suggested using Jotform. (v.i.) as a way to
streamline communication with us and TW and keep a list
of unplanted sites.
Rachel will talk with Jonas Miller about Jonas and Dave getting together to
discuss.
4. The 2501h subcommittee met 1/7 and reported to rest of the group. See the minutes
of 1/7. They will meet again 1/21 with a goal of completing a plan for publicity,
education, and distribution by 2/15. Jonas Millerjoined the group and was very
interested in helping publicity, suggested a platform (Jotform) he has access to. The
hired publicity firm, and Jonas, will both join our next meeting.
5. Rachel is brimming with ideas about planting pocket forest(s) and with information
about their benefits to communities. She presented additions to her slide show, first
viewed by us last month. She will be speaking with Maggie Peard (Sustainability) and
Dave (DPW) about location(s). We talked about the advantages of having one in a
fairly prominent, walkable location.
6. Barbara let us know that CLC is having an annual meeting featuring Charlie Wyman
as speaker on Wednesday, 3/12, 6:30 pm, at the Community Center. His topic: the
history of conservation (in this area???)
7. Wood St—no new information
8. Planning Board: Nancy continues to monitor developments on Militia Dr, Bedford
St., and continues to have good information forwarded from Abby(last name?)
9. We adjourned at 8:50 AM. Next meeting will be on Zoom on Thursday 2/13. Side
note, Barbara is out of town for the month, and I have to be on an 8 AM panel
discussion at 8AM that day—so not at this meeting.
Respectfully submitted, Pat Moyer
