HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-01-08-SC-min • Lexington School Committee Minutes - January 8 (January 9 - January 10) , 1988 Page 1 A meeting of the Lexington School C:nmittee was held on Friday, January 8, 1988 at 7:30 a.m. in the Schc 1 Administration Building. Present were Koplow, Leader, Newman, Wik and Clough. Also present were Dr. Karl Plath, Superintendent Search consultant, and Barnes. Dr. Plath presented the School Committee with an update of the SUPERINTENDENT procedures of the Staff/Citizen Advisory C_-mmittee from the previous SEARCH evening's meeting with them. He discussed how they would organize themselves and handle the questionning of the eight semifinalists. He reviewed the arrangements for the two-day interview process. Members of the School Committee reviewed their process and content SCHOOL COMMITTEE'S of sample questions they would ask applicants in the interview process. PROCEEDURES FOR INTERVIEWS It was VOTED: to recess and continue the meeting at 2: 45 p.m. at the Clarke Middle School. (Wik, Koplow, Unanimous} The School Committee reconvened at approximately 2:45 p.m. at the SUPERINTENDENT Clarke Middle School and conducted interviews with the following INTERVIEWS applicants: John Davis and Gerald Kohn. (FRIDAY,JANUARY 8) Present were Koplow, Leader, Newman, Wik and Cough. Also present were Plath and Barnes. It was VOTED: to recess and reconvene on January 9, 1988 at 9:00 a.m. at the Clarke Middle School to continue further interviews of the candidates for the position of Superintendent cf Schools. (Newman, Koplow, Unanimous) Note: Due to the withdrawal of one applicant and aftermath of severe INTERVIEW weather, the interviews began at 1:00 p.m. SCHEDULE CHANGE (SATURDAY, JANUARY 9) The School Committee interviewed the following appli:ants for the Superintendent of Schools: John Hoeffler, Elizabeth Maria and Daniel Freeman. Present were Koplow, Leader, Newman, Wik and Clough. Also present were Plath and Barnes. It was VOTED: to recess and reconvene on Sunday, January 10, 1988 at noon for further interview of applicants. Present were Koplow, Leader, Newman, N k and Clough. Also present were Plath and Barnes. At approximately 4:30 p.m. the Citiaeis/Staff Advisory Committee met with the School Committee to review heir impressions of the candidates during the interview process.
