Present were: Leader, Newman, Wik and Clough. Also present: Zimmerman and Maclnnes. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, it was VOTED: to accept the Schedule of Payments az listed on Page 5 and 5A. SCHEDULE OF (Leader, Wik, Unanimous) (To be embodied in the Official PAYMENTS Minutes. ) VOTED: to accept the Personnel Changes-Certified as listed on Page 6. PERSONNEL CHANGES- (Leader, Newman, Unanimous) (To be embodied in the Official CERTIFIED Minutes. ) VOTED: to accept the Personnel Changes-Classified as listed on Page PERSONNEL CHANGES- 6-A. (Leader, Newman, Unanimous) (To be embodied in the Official Minutes. ) VOTED: to accept the New Personnel - Elementary as listed on Page 7 NEW PERSONNEL for the 1987-88 school year at the step and level indicated. (Wik, Newman, Unanimous) VOTED: to accept the Bid - Student Accident Insurance from Gerard BID-STUDENT ACCI- Lefebvre Insurance Agency for the school year 1987-88 as low DENT INSURANCE bidder meeting specifications. (Leader, Wik, Unanimous) (To be embodied in the Official Minutes. ) VOTED: to convene in Executive Session at 8:10 a.m. to discuss mat- ters pertaining to contract and financial matters. Yes, Wik; Yes, Leader; Yes, Newman; Yes, Clough The Chairman announced that the School Committee would be return- ing to Public Session. It was VOTED: to convene in Public Session at 8:50 a.m. (Newman, Wik, Unanimous) Mr. Clough said the School Committee had reviewed Dr. Plath's SUPERINTENDENT proposal for the search for the new superintendent. Mr. Clough an- SEARCH nounced that the School Committee had decided that the compensation for the new superintendent was expected to be in the $70's but was negotiatiable depending on experience. He said other issues the School Committee needed to consider were moving expenses and the high cost of living in Lexington in relation to salary offered by the School Committee. Mr. Clough added that the School Committee was in favor of any affirmative action plan that would generate minority candidates. Mr. Clough stated that he would sign (on behalf of the School Committee) a letter of agreement with Dr. Plath regarding con- suiting expenses. However, the memo of understanding was not complete enough to release to the public at this moment. He said it would be released at a future date. No further action was taken.
