A meeting of the Lexington School Committee was held on Tuesday,
May 26, 1987 at 8:00 a.m. in the School Administration Building.
Present were: Koplow, Leader, Newman, Wik and Clough. Also present: •
Barnes.
Mr. Clough said the focus of the meeting was to discuss the pos- SUPERINTENDENT'S
sibility of hiring a consultant for the Superintendent's search SEARCH
process.
The Committee discussed possible roles a consultant would play in
the superintendent's search process. Items reviewed were the role of
the consultant in providing networking; the role of the School Commit-
tee; contract options for the superintendent; interviewing procedures;
the development of qualifications for the position etc.
The School Committee reviewed the list of possible consultants and
their sample proposals. After discussion, it was the consensus of the
School Committee to have Mr. Barnes arrange conferences for Karl Plath
(P&R Associates) , Robert Eraser (Stone, Chandler and Miller) and
Barbara Gilvar (Isaacson Miller, Silver and Boulware) . It was also
agreed that the conferences with the consultants would be held on Mon-
day and Wednesday of the following week.
