There's a possibility of a grant from America Works but project must be shovel ready and financial commitments must be in place first. Awarding of this grant might cause a small delay but project must be completed by Fall 2024 for 2025. The Ad Hoc Committee is providing technical guidance. Pam Shadley stressed the importance of providing accurate information to the public. Sean Dugan introduced himself as the Town's new public information officer. This is a newly created position devoted to improving communication with the community at large. In particular Sean could be helpful with disseminating information about the streetscape plan. Mateo Galizzio of LaDolda introduced himself. LaDolda (going into the empty Great Harvest space) will have artisanal Italian gourmet pasta. Bridger McGaw discussed two articles regarding economic development that he is bringing to Town Meeting. The purpose is to address the imbalance between the residential and commercial tax bases. The articles would support an economic development strategy highlighting actionable items, and more rapidly provide private and academic expertise to the Planning Board, and Town government generally, utilizing a data driven approach rather than anecdotes. Melisa is in support of this. The Center Committee will vote on the Streetscape Project at the March meeting.
