HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-03-19-BOS-min a SELET_ UN' S 1,EBETING March 19, 1962 A meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the Selectmen' s Room, Town Office Building, on Monday, March 19, 1962, at 7 :00 P.M. Chairman Adams, Messrs . Richards , Cole , Brown and Burnell were present. Mr . Staples, Executive Assistant, and Piss Murray, Execu- tive Clerk, were also present . The Chairman referred to the damage to the fire alarm system on March 4 and stated that the Commissioners reported the estimated damage to be $2500, but since that time , it appears that some of the cable has to be pulled. Mr . Staples explained that Chief Engineer Belcastro said the 42500 included the cable , plus ti 1,000 for drawing the cable through the conduits and 400 for the cuts . The Chairman stated that there w s some discussion relative to including this in the amount to be appropri- ated this evening but he felt that no action should be Fire alarm taken until a more definite figure is submitted and system when the time comes , a transfer could be requested from the Reserve Fund . It was -greed that whatever amount is required should be taken from tre Fire Department Expenses Ac- count and a transfer requested from the Reserve Fund at the end of the year, if necessary. Mr. Steens arrived at the meeting at 7 :20 P.M. and stated that he had another deed drawn pertaining the the transfers of land between the Town and the Josiah Willard Hayden Foundation. Upon motion duly made and secocded, it was voted to rescind the vote of June 28, 1961, signing an Hayden earlier deed. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to sign a new deed prepared and presented by Mr . Stevens . The deed from the Town to the Recreation Centre was recorded as instrument No. 198, and the deed from the Recreation Centre to the Town as instrument No. 199, and the plan referred to in both deeds was recorded as plan No. 312 of 1962 . Letter was received from Mr. Stevens with reference to the land of Raytheon Company off Shade Street that the 324 NC Federal Aviation Agency wished to acqui2e for the purpose Federal of erecting communications towers . He advised that Aviation Raytheon has received word that the A ency has decided Agency to divert the communication facilities to some other lo- cation. The meeting adjLurned at 7 :35 P.M.
