HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-08-08-SC-min Page 58 August 8, 1980 A meeting of the Lexington School Committee was held at the School Administration Building on August 8, 1980, at 7:30 a.m. Those in atten- dance were: Brown, Gaudet , and Swanson. Also in attendance were: Lawson and MacInnes. There was one item of businesss. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, it was VOTED: that a contract for drilling and coring be awarded to Concrete BIDS - Coring Co. based on their low bid of $3,067. (Swanson, Gaudet , DRILLING & Unanimous) (To be embodied in the official minutes) CORING There being no further business, it was VOTED: to adjourn at 7:40 a.m. ( Gaudet , Swanson,Unanimous) Respectfully submitted James R. Maclnnes Recording Secretary - Pro Tem /mc BIDS - DRILLING AND CORING On July 29, 1980, requests for bids for Drilling and Coring the Concrete Slabs as part of the High School renovation were sent to four companies. The bid Was also advertised in the July 31, 1980 issue of the Lexington Minuteman, Specifications were drawn for the drilling and coring of approximately 130 holes in the concrete slabs for water supply, drains and vents. The holes range in size from 1" to 10", Three sealed bids were opened at 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 7, 1980, The recap is as follows: Boston Contract Drilling Co. , Inc. $4993, Concrete Coring Co, 3067. Solberg Construction Co. , Inc, 5430. Although there is .not a specific budget for this item,it is included within the construction portion of the renovation budget. Concrete Coring Co. is fully capable of doing this work,
