Agenda Notes 1.Approve November Minutes,Jackie A motion was made by Angela to approve the minutes. Daley The motion was seconded by KC and approved Update on Lynne Sheeley unanimously. Dates for"Let's Chats" are being updated today. Lynne Sheeley is stepping down.There will need to be an "election."Jackie will be sending out an email regarding this for interested parties to contact her. If need be,we will do a vote. 2."Let's Chat"Update- Jackie Daley Goal:Six"Let's Chats"before June 2019 Timing: Possible:once in the morning,once in the evening 1. January"My First 90 Days" presentation, Meet the Principal,Jackie Daley- "New Year's Resolution"(morning and evening) a. Asked for attendees'thoughts about AM/PM presentations b. AM/PM presentations left attendees with different thoughts since conversations were different c. Jackie's take-away:do one at the end of March,do one at the end of the year- attendees liked the format and to hear what was going on 2. February 12-Social Emotional Learning- Lynne Griffin parent night Reading Workshop Activity and follow-up-(only evening presentation) 3. March 20-Math-How do I help my mathematicians with this work?(Math Coaches/Specialists)-possibly AM/PM event 4. March/April(tentative)School Community Update by Jackie Daley S. April 3-Title 1 Literacy Presentation,AM/PM presentations(Literacy Coaches/Specialists) 6. May 23-Summer Academic Engagement, library, math, literacy-AM/PM event 7. June-possible end-of-year Principal Update Jackie shared her"Let's Chat- My First 90 Days" presentation with the council, highlighting special moments and successes throughout the fall.She also explained the work that is being done by our faculty to implement new protocols and strategies for meeting the needs of all students. Link of the presentation will go onto Site Council page. Jackie will put a little paragraph explaining the presentation. 3.Challenge Success-Jackie Daley Madeline Levine, Ph.D.,Jim Lobdell, M.A.,and Denise Pope, Ph.D.founded Challenge Success, an expansion of What is it? the highly successful SOS(Stressed-Out Students) Let's look at some stats... Project at Stanford University. Utilizing the resources of Are we interested in doing something a prominent advisory board of interdisciplinary experts, more? the co-founders created a research-based organization that develops practical curriculum,conferences,and programs for parents,schools,and kids looking for a healthier and more effective path to success in the 21st century.Challenge Success has become a trusted "voice of reason"for parents and educators,and has received significant media attention and tremendous public and private support.We teach courses and deliver workshops nationally and internationally on parenting techniques,child development, school reform,and strategies to increase well-being,engagement with learning, and integrity. -Pam is 100%in! -Ann agrees-worth a shot! Not sure how it will work with families who are always going to push their kids within the district. It becomes kids vs. kids. -Jackie-the ultimate goal is to go district-wide.Take resources(i.e. book group,readings, etc.)and use that as material for"Let's Chat." Next Steps: - Jen will order copies for the Site Council - read the book,find highlights,things that might be appealing 4.
