Agenda Item Notes 1. Introductions 2.Welcome&Update Parent&Family Survey-Has occurred 37 times over the past few school years The group discussed let's Chat,a long-standing series of open discussions between families and school professionals.The meetings have typically happened throughout the school year, mostly in the morning once school starts.One or more have happened in the evening each school year.A literacy meeting and school safety meeting were two of the most well-attended events. The council reviewed the May 2018 minutes. Pam made a motion to approve the minutes as written.The motion was seconded by Anne.They were unanimously approved. The May 2018 minutes were a refresher of council conversations from last spring.The School Improvement Plan,in the current form,is partially a product of the work done during Site Council. 3.School Improvement Plan The group expressed their experience in reviewing the current version of the School Improvement Plan.Jackie shared her vision for the creation of future plans. 4. Next Month Let's Chat Plans S. Other Pickup/Dropoff-it's a difficult time of day,afternoons especially.We're without a crossing guard and signage. Jackie has requested police presence during this time.She has worked with Lexington Police to tour and review parking lot expectations.Safety is the biggest concern during this time.Anne recommended parent volunteers to improve traffic flow. Michelle provided historical context about signage issues and compliance with town ordinances. KC shared her knowledge of a flaw in the location of busses and car pickup. Michelle reminded the group of a previous initiative when families were provided with a laminated card of pickup and dropoff expectations.
