1. Reviewed minutes for October and November—voted and approved
2. Shawn Newell discussed accessibility projects at the school playgrounds.
• At Bowman, the proposed playground surface is a PIP (poured-in-place) rubber surface that
is more accessible but costs three times as much as wood chips. The Bowman project is
asking for 100%CPA funding.
• At Bridge, the ground will be re-levelled to bring the surface up higher for accessibility; it will
feature two molded swings, a tactile board and an upper extremity workout station. This
project will ask for CPA funds of$302,000.
• At Harrington, the playground has been updated.
3. Keith Ohmart from the Greenway Corridor Committee discussed the work being done to make
the trails more accessible.
• Parker Meadow—funds will be requested for survey
• Willards'Woods—a survey is needed.
• Cotton Farm—project is moving ahead to make at least one path to all areas accessible.
• Community Connector—this trail network project needs$1,000,000 to connect trails from
Community Center to end of Worthen Road which will benefit everyone, but especially high
school students. There is an Environmental Bond Bill that goes for 5-year cycles that could help
with matching funds.
4. New business
• Julie discussed the problem with the weight of the bathroom doors at the Community
Center; Shawn will check on this.
• Reminder about film "Including Samuel" on January 17.
