CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
This certificate is issued pursuant to Chapter 447, Acts of Massachusetts, 1956, as amended, to
Leonard J. Colwell

withrespectto the erection and display of two signs on the premises, as '
noted below, at 4 Vine Brook Road, which is within the Battle Green
District.
The first sign is to be erected on the front elevation of the buil-
ding and is to bear the legend: "LEONARD J. COLIXELL Realtors" . The
letters of the sign are to be cut out of plywood approximately 11t
thick, painted black and fastened to the clapboarding of the front
elevation. The sign is to be located on the garrison over-hang below
the windows of the second floor and centered above the windows on the
first floor. The top of the letters of the sign shall be not less
than 12" below the bottom of the sill of the second floor windows and
the bottom letters of the sign shall be not less than 6" above the
base of the garrison over-hang. The horizontal space between the
words "LEONARD J. COUXELL" and "Realtors" shall be approximately 5" .
The general design, layout, style and dimensions of the letters ap-
pear on a scale drawing submitted to the Commission at the hearing
on October 1, 1969 .
The second sign is to be erected on and centered in the lower gable
of the westerly elevation of the building and is to bear the legend:
"REAL ESTATE" . The letters of the sign are to be out out of plywood
approximately 1" thick, painted black and fastened to the gable
siding. The bottom of the letters are to be not less than 6" above
the horizontal line of the bottom of the gable . The general design,
layout, style and dimensions of the letters appear on a scale drawing
submitted to the Commission at the adjourned hearing on October 8,
1969 .
The issuance of this certificate does not constitute evidence of
compliance with the sign By-Law or any other By-Law of the Town of
Lexington.
