The Historic Districts Commission held a hearing on the
application of the Filix fealty Trust for €a certificate
for the erection of a directory sign at 6-8 Muzzey St.
Lexington, in the tattle Green District. This hearing
was held Tuesday, Jtuuae 17, 1958 at 7. Q P.M, in the
First Moor Conference Room, Cary Memorial building.
Present were Messrs. D via, Smith, Parsons and associate
Members Arnold "sward and Mrs.Merriam*
Mrs. Davie read the notices There was then convideraable
discussion of the sketches as supplied, by the applicant and
of two more which were submitted by Mr. Worthen. It woo
finally decided that the one preferred by the Misses Viano
and by the Commission was one by Mrs Worthen. Mar. Davis will
take this in and have a coupe of black and white copies
evade of it. It was decided that if the applicant eared
to enlarge the sign proportionally, it could be dune.
Miss Agnee Viano said they were looping into the historioal
background of the building and she wanted to get in touch
with Mr.Worthen can this. Mr. Davis suggested she might also
try Dr. Piper on thisWgard.inag a name for the building)
Miss Viano asked, regarding putting up a chain link fence,,,
if they deemed this advisable. This would be between their
building and that of smith's. Mrs Mavis said they would
have to have a hearing on this , if they decided to erect it.

which comes under the €7omnisasion.
The directory shin would be a whiten black round with black
letters.
It was decided to grant €a certificate on the sketch
preferred.

ne Freetion of a sign on the building. However, the
original plans, as approved,, called for script: lettering,
The now sketch: ea :,a for Roman. After some discussion,
r. Parsons will consult with Mrs MacNeil and get a
compatible sign® If. hcv evewr, everything is equal, the
Commission decided they preferred a light Roars but this
is to be left to sir. Parsons' judgment.
A letter was mead from Mr.ttobert Anderson regarding
writing a thesis. It was decided to write him, :sending aa,
copy of the Act, refer him to the Town Engineer for maps
and td the publications and paper, available at the
Historical Society houses, A letter is being scant to him.
On the hearing on the 24th of June, MrSavie will be away
and Mr. Howard will serve in his place®
