A quorum of five was present. Members Present: Mark Sandeen, Marcia Gens, Dan Voss, Todd Rhodes, Rick Reibstein Members Absent: None Other Attendees: Aiman Alawa, CEO, NuWatt Energy Mohammed Siddiqui, President, Solution Sales Management James Cerbone, Project Manager—Environmental Services, MassDOT Eric Wood, Principal, Ramboll Environ Don Pettey, Mass DOT Joe Pato, Board of Selectmen Kris The meeting was called to order at 7:20 pm. Update of Town Building Projects (J. Pato) • J. Pato provided an overview of the Town's building projects including the purchase of the Liberty Mutual Building, the Pelham Building, changes to the Bedford Street Fire Station, Hastings Elementary School. Presentation: Benefits of Co-location of PV Solar Energy Generation with Highway Noise Barriers • The program has been under consideration for 2 years, working through DOT review. • This would be the first such program in North America • NuWatt is expected to be the developer with KO-TECH, but the size requires it be put out to bid. The RFP/RFQ will likely go out in January 2017 and construction would be in the spring of 2017. Getting to Net Zero (M. Sandeen) • Established agreement with Perigrin and they are developing the baseline. • Reaching out to Sustainable Partners International (SPI) and Integral as potential support. Solar Task Force (D. Voss) • Hartwell project has building permit. Ground prep in process. Foundations are being installed. • Working to get the system in place by January 8, 2017. Page 1 of 2 Lexplore Sustainability Fair (M. gens) • Planned for October 29, 2016 at Lexington High School. Community Choice Aggregation (M. Sandeen) • DOER has reviewed the plan and made small changes. • DPU is currently reviewing it. Expect approval on November 2. • Plan to present to Selectmen on November 21st • Then come back with indicative pricing (expected price range) and give town manager authority to sign agreement with that range. • Then communication plan to residents. Composting (M. Gens) • The 3 school pilot went well. • Thinking of expanding to the high school. • Need to put out a RFP due to the expanded scope Toxics (R. Reibstein) • Update on the Toxics Law.
