HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-01-25-BOWMAN-min Bowman Site-Based Council Friday, January, 25, 2019 Members Present: Seth Moeller, Lauren Avery, Rosanne Barbacano, Jenny Corduck, Melinda Webster Loof, Karin Ornstein, Alison Stevens Jenny Corduck, recorder Motion: Meeting called to order at 7:48am by Seth Moeller, seconded by Melinda Webster-Loof. All in favor 8-0. I. Welcome & Announcements • Saga School update: Jenny updated council members on the $400.00 donation to the school in support of student tuitions. She shared letters that were received from students requesting tuition support and explaining why it was needed. Ellen Day suggested whether or not students who participate in 100 Mile Club could "earn" pennies for miles walked/run while participating in the optional program. • Jenny shared with the group experience of last week's professional learning opportunity as a team from Bowman began the LPS "PBL Leadership Series". Melinda recapped the three days describing the work that was completed by the team. Rosanne Barbacano described her own learning from this summer when she attended Project Slice. As a result she is working on a project with her second graders around their identity. II. Strategic Planning: "Keep, Lose, Dream & Innovate" Jenny shared information regarding the steps the district is taking to construct a LPS Strategic Plan. She recapped the process the Joint Council Team and Bowman staff participated in when considering the things as a district/school we should "Keep, Lose, Dream and Innovate." Council members each took sticky notes and wrote down ideas that fell into those four categories. The group worked independently for about 5 minutes and then each member shared their ideas with the group. Jenny collected their sticky notes and will have Chrissy type the ideas into the document to be shared out with the group. Meeting was adjourned at 8:48am.
