I. Welcome & Announcements
• Saga School update: Jenny updated council members on the $400.00 donation
to the school in support of student tuitions. She shared letters that were received
from students requesting tuition support and explaining why it was needed. Ellen
Day suggested whether or not students who participate in 100 Mile Club could
"earn" pennies for miles walked/run while participating in the optional program.
• Jenny shared with the group experience of last week's professional learning
opportunity as a team from Bowman began the LPS "PBL Leadership Series".
Melinda recapped the three days describing the work that was completed by the
team. Rosanne Barbacano described her own learning from this summer when
she attended Project Slice. As a result she is working on a project with her
second graders around their identity.
II. Strategic Planning: "Keep, Lose, Dream & Innovate"
Jenny shared information regarding the steps the district is taking to construct a LPS
Strategic Plan. She recapped the process the Joint Council Team and Bowman staff
participated in when considering the things as a district/school we should "Keep, Lose,
Dream and Innovate." Council members each took sticky notes and wrote down ideas
that fell into those four categories. The group worked independently for about 5 minutes
and then each member shared their ideas with the group. Jenny collected their sticky
notes and will have Chrissy type the ideas into the document to be shared out with the
group.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:48am.
