December 20, 2018 Meeting Minutes
Members in Attendance: Jen Turner, Jenny Wright, Sam Bosbach, Dan Strollo (on speaker

Approval of 11/29/18 Minutes: Approved
Principal's Report:
• Jeffrey Benson will be starting consulting with the Discipline Committee. Earlier he had
come in for two groups and now we have the committee of 12. Each month there will be
a meeting, as well as consulting via phone consults.
• Panorama Survey results have been published. Jen met with the rep and Maureen
Kavanagh to review the platform to view results. Next step, Maureen will work with our
internal diversity/equity committee.
o Four areas. Highlight based on positive to negative responses. Broken down by
subgroups. Some inconsistencies by subgroups.
o Need more time to figure out ways to publish data so that we use it effectively.
• Scheduling Committee Update
o Consultant is not the right fit
o May draw from original scheduling group and cut the group size down to continue
the work. Plan to get new schedule ready for 2020-2021 to coincide with new
school schedule (10 minutes shorter day).
• Parent Conferences
o Last week, team leader meeting to see if there are other models that they can
follow.
Staff Report:
• Nothing to report.
Member Input:
• Question about substitute situation.
o Request for floating substitute for the building was put in for budget. Probably
not going to be approved.
o There will be pay increase put in for the budget.
• Any feedback from parents on parent-teacher conferences?
• Hastings school building project discussion brought up the question on why our curbs
are granite and too high to pull in like earlier.
• Question about why Christmas has not been celebrated in schools.
o Admin council will have this discussion in the future.
• Drop off in the morning has been hectic. Not all parents are following the traffic flow.
Jen has been communicating the traffic patterns in her parent emails regularly.
