HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-11-08-LCC-min Town of Lexington Lexington Center Committee Minutes for meeting held Thursday, November 8th, 2018 Parker Room, ground floor, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, Massachusetts Center Committee members: Michael Boudett, Richard Brown, Katherine Huang, Frederic Johnson, Howard Levin, Pamela Lyons,Jerold Michelson (Chair), Pamela Shadley, David Tabeling Liaisons: Joe Pato, Board of Selectmen, Frank Smith, Capital Expenditures Committee, Megan Zammuto, ED, Melisa Tintocalis, EDD, Robert Creech, Planning Board, Casey Haggerty, ED Associate Guests: Anessa Manning, Cary Memorial Library Howard and Pam Shadley discussed the Center Streetscape Project presentation that will be made at Town Meeting. The Lexington Center Committee voted 9-0 to support the Town Meeting Article to fully fund the design portion of the Center Streetscape Project. This article needs a simple majority vote at Town Meeting. Fred will speak on behalf of the Center Committee. Pam Shadley will make the presentation. Anessa Manning discussed Cary Memorial Library's upcoming 150th Anniversary There will be a gala fundraiser on March 23rd, 2019. The Economic Development Office has applied for a 10K grant for a "retail market strategic plan for Lexington Center." The grant is offered by the Dept. of Housing and Community Development which offered the grant to provide technical support to towns not typically eligible for state funding. The Lexington Center Committee voted 9-0 to support Melisa's initiative. Megan gave the EDD update. A homemade pasta business is coming into the Great Harvest Space. A takeout French bakery is coming into 182 Bedford Street. The Visitor Center will vacate its current space in April to make way for the construction of the new Visitors Center. Jenny Gingress introduced herself as the new Building Administrator. Jenny encouraged us to contact her with any questions we might have.
