HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-12-13-YC-min Town of Lexington Lexington Youth Commission Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, December 13th, 2018 Members Present: Bess Lawrence, Cate Swan, Anthony Mabardy, Ishaan Khurana, Katie Devine, Patrick Kridarahkorn, Alessia Caira, Charles Mabardy, Summer Spencer, Annabel Cincotta, Mehr Khurana, Rebecca Wilkinson, Matthew Favazzo, Andrew Lawrence, Madelyn Lucente, Jack Maloney, Marilyn Swinger, Hobie Swan, Regina Tashjian, Ella Thomas, Deb Hankins, Shannon DeGuglielmo, Joe Hankins, Jim Athens, Nachiyappan Solaiyappan, Katherine Gehring, Courtney Campbell, Maria Schapfel, Michael Swift, Skylar Spencer, Myles Cutler, Lucas DiCerbo, and Annika Richter. Members Absent: Millie Landis, Rachel Harvey, Max DiCerbo, Hannah Caltaldo, Aaron Bronson, Karen Duperey, Elena Sabin, Oliver DiCerbo, Carolyn Lane, and Zoe Toulmin. 1. We handed out sweatshirts to those that ordered them. If you haven't brought in your money please bring in $30 to the next meeting. 2. We debriefed our Thanksgiving Turkey Drive. Overall it went well even though there some minor issues. All of the issues were quickly resolved. 3. We discussed our Cradles to Crayons event scheduled for January 2111 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Those who said they could come were, Summer, Madelyn, Hannah, Annika, Mike, Skyler, Regina, Marylin, Ella, Alessia, Anthony, Bess, Cate, Andrew, Patrick and maybe Maria. Mike, Cate and Patrick are 18 and will go in as adults. 4. We quickly went over our February Valentines Day Luncheon at the community center. We will go to the community center to serve lunch at around 11:30 AM. The exact date will be announced in the future. Anyone interested in going should get dismissed from school that day. 5. We started to plan our Cotting School visit. We decided that it will take place some time after April vacation. This is also an event that will take place during school, so anyone interested would have to get signed out of school for the time period. 6. We discussed the Patriot's Day Parade. Last year we did not build a float and instead rented a gold cart. If you want to build a float come in with an idea for one. 7. We talked about volunteering for the Lion's Club eye glass cleaning. We are going to clean eyeglasses during one of our meetings at the community center. We will extend the time of the meeting to 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The date of that meeting is to be determined. 8. Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday,January 10, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the community center. Respectively submitted, Anthony Mabardy- Lexington Youth Commission Secretary
