HomeMy WebLinkAbout1835-1852 Selectmen Memorandum Book (typed transcription) (S-03)Selectmens Records 1835 - 1852 Memorandum Book of the Selectmen of Lexington 1835 May 4 Then the selectmen agreed with Jonas Muzzey to ring the bell sweep the meeting house, saw and split the wood, take charge of the stove make the fires, clean the snow away from the house and take the general charge of the same, the bell to rumen the cabath; public:days, toll for funerals and to be rung every day at 12 oclock Csundays excepted, throughout the year. hand the said MUzzey agreed to perform this above service for one year for the sum of sixty dollars begining at the above date 00.00 June the 1st.. The Selectmen let the feed growing on the common the present season to Jonas M. Muzzey for the sum of eight dollars 48.00 Sept Daniel Simond bought of the Selectmen the old bell repo not paid 2 Unfinished Buisness of the Selectmen - 18.35 The erecting of the monuments between Viest Cambridge Lexington The brush and briers to be taken off the old bur:Ting ground The division line of fence arround the old and new burying ground to be put on record.
