A Meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on May 22,2018 at 5:00 p.m.in the Reed Meeting Room of the Town Hall Building.
In attendance: Gregory Johnson,Chairman,Edmund C.Grant,Member,Casimir Groblewski,Member,Robert F. Lent,Director of Assessing,
and Sandra penoodomoo.Administrative Assessor.
The Chairman,Gregory Johnson called the Meeting toorder ot5:0Op.m.
Open Session
Public Comment Time: None present.
There were nodiscussions ofFinancial Issues including Overlay Fund.
Chairman Johnson made a motion that the Board of Assessors go into Executive Session under Purpose 7 in order to deliberate Fiscal Year
2018 Statutory Exemptions,Real Estate Abatement Applications and Personal PropertyAbatements since deliberation inOpen Session could
be detrimental to potential appeal or litigation matters,consistent with requirements and practices specified in the Open Meeting Law Guide.
The Board voted,3-Uinfavor huguinto Executive Session at5:15pm.

Upon motion duly made and seconded,the Board ufAssessors adjourned the Executive Session ouO:3Vp.m and returned mOpen Session
o[the Meeting.

The Board unanimously voted 3-0infavor cfone deem deny of a Clause 18Hardship Exemption andappmvingof the remaining various
Fiscal Year 2O18 Chapter 59.Section 5Clauses ofStatutory Exemption applications (See List inExecutive fo|der).
There were no Fiscal Year 2018 Chapter 59,Section 59 Real Estate and Personal Property Abatement applications to discuss.
The Board postponed discussions vfthe Fiscal Year 2O193ABCApplications.
Director of Assessing Lent,attended the Residential Exemption Policy Study Committee(Ad Hoc)Meeting held on May 11,2018. The ad-hoc
committee characterized the expected effects of adopting the exemption,the ad-hoc committee will present policy recommendations and
implementation options tothe Board ufSelectmen.
The Board discussed pending Appellate Tax Board litigations,no decisions had to be made.
The Board postponed discussion ofthe Meeting Minutes.
