AMeeting of the Board of Assessors was held on May 3,2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the Ellen Stone Meeting Room of the Cary Memorial Building.
In attendance: Gregory Johnson,Chairman,Edmund C.Grant,Member,Casimir Groblewski,Member,Robert F. Lent,Director of Assessing,
and Sandra Pon0ademne.Administrative Assessor.
The Chairman,Gregory Johnson called the Meeting ioorder at5:VDp.m.
Open Session
Public Comment Time: None present.
There were nodiscussions m[Financial Issues including Overlay Fund.
Chairman Johnson made a motion that the Board of Assessors go into Executive Session under Purpose 7 in order to deliberate Fiscal Year
2018 Statutory Exemptions, Real Estate Abatement Applications and Personal Property Abatements since deliberation in Open Session could
be detrimental to potential appeal or litigation matters,consistent with requirements and practices specified in the Open Meeting Law Guide.
The Board voted,3-O|nfavor togointo Executive Session ut 5:15 p.m.

Upon motion duly made and seconded,the Board of Assessors adjourned the Executive Session at 6:45 p.m.and returned to Open Session
ofthe Meeting.

The Board unanimously voted 3-0 in favor of one deem deny of a Tax Deferral Exemption and approving of the remaining various Fiscal Year
2O18Chapter 5g.Section 5Clauses ofStatutory Exemption applications. (See List inExecutive fo|amr).
There were noFiscal Year 2O18 Chapter 59,Section 59 Real Estate and Personal Property Abatement applications to discuss.
The Board postponed discussions ofthe Fiscal Year 2O195ABCApplications.
Director ofAssessing Lent,presented discussions to the Board,that he'll be attending the Residential Exemption Policy Study Committee(Ad
Hoc)Meeting,scheduled tobeheld onMay 11.2D18ut 8:30a.m. Committee Chair Mark Andersen provided alist ufprepared questions hy
the Committee 0uMr. Lent for his review.
The Board discussed pending Appellate Tax Board actions. No decisions had to be made.
The Board postponed discussion nfthe Meeting Minutes.

There being no other business a motion was duly made and seconded at 6:50 p.m.to adjourn the Meeting.
