Lexington Youth Commission
Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, October 11thth, 2018
Members Present: Bess Lawrence, Cate Swan, Anthony Mabardy, Ishaan Khurana,
Katie Devine, Patrick Kridarahkorn, Lucas DiCerbo, Rachel Harvey, Zoe Toulmin,
Alessia Caira, Charles Mabardy, Annika Richter, Summer Spencer, Annabel Cincotta,
Mehr Khurana, Rebecca Wilkinson, Hannah Cataldo, Oliver DiCerbo, Matthew Favazzo,
Carolyn Lane, Andrew Lawrence, Madelyn Lucente, Jack Maloney, Elena Sabin,
Marilyn Swinger, Skylar Spencer, Hobie Swan, Regina Tashjian, Ella Thomas, Deb
Hankins, Shannon DeGuglielmo, Joe Hankins, and Jim Athens.
Members Absent: Max DiCerbo, Nachiyappan Solaiyappan, Millie Landis, Katherine
Gehring, Courtney Campbell, Maria Schapfel, Michael Swift, Erin Cesmeli, Myles Cutler
and Karen Duperey.
1. The Lexington Community Center is looking for ideas for activities to be held at the
Community Center. We started to collect ideas and decided to send the idea of holding
a Spikeball tournament. Come to the next meeting with as many ideas as possible to
send to the Community Center.
2. We discussed the Belmont Car Wash. We are sending volunteers to Belmont Car Wash
on Wednesday October 17th at 2:30 PM after school to collect the check and take a
picture for the local newspaper. Those who said they could go are Alessia, Annika,
Patrick, Mehr, Andrew, Carolyn, Elena, Matthew (Maybe), Skylar, and Hannah. Deb will
meet you in the Quad at 2:30 pm, she will drive everyone.
3. We had lots of great ideas for our Tee Shirt Design for this year. Kristina took them all
with her, because there we so many great ideas, she is incorporating designs and will
send out an email to everyone.
4. We planned our Halloween trick-or-treating event. We collected names for who could
go. We will be meeting in the quad on October 3151, at 11:16. Alessia, Becca, Andrew,
Hobie, Regina, Ella, Elena, Marilyn,Jack, Matthew, Skylar, Summer, Zoe, Carolyn,
Annika, Rachel, Maddie, Katie, Annabel, Patrick, Ishaan, Cate, Bess, and Anthony said
that they could go. For those of you who did not attend the meeting, if you would like to
participate in this activity we will see you in the Quad.
5. We discussed our new raffle fundraiser for Lexington families in need. Each member will
sell 13 tickets for$10 each and will return with $130 and 13 ticket stubs. The drawing
will be held December 131h. REMINDER—The person who purchases the ticket, must fill
out the stub with name and telephone number. You keep this part of the ticket which
will be put into the drawing. For those who did not attend the meeting, stop by Room
202 at LHS to pick up your ticket book next week!
6. We went over the logistics of our Thanksgiving Turkey Drive that we do each year in
conjunction with the Rotary Club. An important part of this, which was discussed is the
importance of confidentiality. The plan is to meet at C&W on Wednesday, November
2111 at 3:30 to pick up Turkey Boxes and make deliveries. We will discuss further at next
meeting. Maddy also talked about the Lexington Lions Club Thanksgiving Day Turkey
Dinners. As she mentioned they are always looking for volunteers on the morning of
Thanksgiving to help prep hot individual dinners at the 2 Villages in town. If you would
like to volunteer, you can let her know at our next meeting on November 8t"
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 8t" 2018 at 7:00 at the
Lexington Community Center.
