Evaluate the characteristics of this building in terms of other buildings within the community. HISTORICAL NARRATIVE Discuss the history of the building. Explain its associations with local(or state)history. Include uses of the building, and the role(s)the owners/occupants played within the community. In 1964 the School Committee voted to build a new elementary school on Moreland Avenue because of the need for classroom space in the eastern part of town. The school was built according to the same plan as the Bridge Elementary School at 55 Middleby Road which was constructed at the same time. The Bowman School was designed by the architectural firm of Clinch, Crimp,Brown&Fisher.
