evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community.)
one of a number of early twentieth century houses of rather individual-
istic design in Lexington, this house may reflect the influence of Japanese
architecture. Features include the gable on hip roof with broad eaves and
exposed rafters, the segmentally-arched three-part central window on the
second level, the curve of which is repeated in the bowed eave line above,
and the entrance porch with heavy Doric columns and brackets supporting a
hip roof with central shed extension.
