ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE (Describe important architectural features and
evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community.)
This house has some of the earmarks of a Willard Brown design, and
therefore attributed to the architect, Lexington's most original early
twentieth century architect. The house shares many features with Brown's
Lamont house at 20 Winthrop Road, built c. 1910-1920: hip roof with flared
eaves and exposed rafters, flattened elliptical arch, and picturesque massing.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local or state
history and how the building relates to the development of the community.)
