ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE (Describe important architectural features and

This is a four-square I.ansard house with haired brackets at the eaves,
dorr:er windows -with broad eaves, and a one-story bay window on the richt side.
Finishes including slate roof are intact. The pedir.ented doorway is a recent
replacement.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local or state
history and how the building relates to the development of the community.)
This house appears on the 1876 man and is one of the substantial ::ansard
houses built along I4uzzey Street before that date. In 1676 it was owned by
_;rs. Tlary Whitman and the Whitman farlily continued o�aninr. it trrouci; the turn
of the centur-,7, probabD, renting it since no !,.-hitm.ans at that address are
listed in the directories.
