One .of the houses standing on the green, April 19, 1775. Restored by Mr. Leroy Brown
in 1915. Mr. Brown also restored the Jon. Harrintnn house (B-3) in 1910.
The Munroe family was one of the oldest in Lexington. John Munroe kept a malt house,
in old house behind Belfry Hill (B-20) before building house at (now) 1906 Mass. Ave.
(Munroe family first appears in Lex. before 1684)
Brown's restoration undoubtedly involved alterations as well. SPNEA picture files show
house with 19th. c. grk revival door.
Descrip. cont.- with modillioned fluted pilasters - no lights. Brick-foundation-
windows 8 x 8. Addition to rear.
