Alice Butler Cary, her adopted daughter, gave the present building in 1905, land partly given by other members of the family & partly purchased by the town. Descrip cont: to left of door, with large window - single pane of glass flanked by narrower side lights, segmental fanlight over; wing facing Mass. Ave. has row of narrow vertical windows, first & 2nd floor. Verticality emphasized by plain bands linking two levels of windows. 10.
