Descrip cont:
1 room deep farmhouse; porch added rear right; ell & shed, greenhouse.
Abel Chandler kept a grocery store in this house when it was nearer to road,
early 19th. c. (c. 1830) . Canavan says brothers Samuel & Daniel probably
backed him.
Historical significance (continued)
According to a former owner, Keith Butters, the five bay portion of the
house stood nearer Massachusetts Avenue at one time and was moved back to join
an older, four room structure in the rear. In remodeling, the Butters broke
through an interior wall and uncovered exterior siding.
